Our story
605 Diecast is two people, a counter, and a lot of patience for sorting other people’s boxes.
Behind the counter, under the Stunt Zone sign
They really turned this store around. Lots of great items from furniture, jewelry, toys and collectable diecast. Shane E., customer
That is about the size of it. What is now the biggest diecast wall in Sioux Falls started as a booth, and it grew the way these things do: one collection at a time, one shelf at a time, usually on a day the shop was supposed to be closed.
Everything you see has been through our hands. We buy it, we sort it, we price it and we put it out. Nothing is drop-shipped and nothing is ordered in by the pallet, which is why the wall is different every week and why we can usually tell you where a piece came from.
Three things we care about more than we probably should
Everything gets a price on it
You should never have to ask what something costs, or feel like the number depends on who is asking. Every piece carries a tag. If one does not, it only landed that morning.
We tell you what it is worth
When you bring something in we will say what is collectable and what is not, and why. If a piece is worth more than we can pay, we would rather tell you that than quietly buy it cheap.
Nobody gets rushed
People come in for one car and stay forty minutes. That is the point of the place. Bring the kids, open the drawers, dig through the bin.
The Blessing Box
There is a wooden cupboard outside the front door. It says “leave what you can, take what you need”, and that is exactly how it works. No form, no questions, no opening hours.
It gets stocked by us and by people from around West 12th, and some days it empties twice. It is not really anything to do with selling toys. It is just the sort of thing you end up doing when a shop is also your corner of the neighbourhood.
What people say about the two of us
